The department

Our Property Litigation team is based in our St Albans and Luton branches and provides specialist advice in all areas of commercial and residential property disputes.  We act for property owners, landlords, tenants and developers.   

The role

We have an opporutnity to join our St Albans team as a Departmental Secretary.  The role will provide legal administrative support to several fee earners and overflow support to our Luton team of fee earners. 

Responsibilties include:

  • audio transcription - correspondence, emails, legal documents including Court forms and associated documents e.g. witness statements
  • collating documentation and preparing Court bundles
  • keeping up-to-date client correspondence records saved digitally and maintaining hardcopy records where necessary
  • handling telephone calls from clients and third parties, including other side solicitors, Court contacts and other associated parties and professionals
Other information

The role requires:

  • an experienced legal secretary - experience in property litigation, commercial property and/or commercial litigation
  • experience of audio transcription
  • good computer literacy
  • fast and accurate touch typing - min 50wpm 
  • close attention to detail
  • a natural sense of urgency and able to work under pressure
  • a professional and courteous telephone manner
